TGNP Annual Scholarships Awarded

The Good Neighbor Scholarship awards a graduating high school senior with a $500 scholarship for their continued education expenses. Each recipient is chosen based on a thoughtful essay they write in response to a topic I select—often related to insurance or current trends.

I asked this year’s scholarship applicants to reflect on what it truly means to be a good neighbor and how they plan to live out that role in their own communities. I’m thrilled to announce Dereck Pinterich (Berwick Area HS) and Garrett Petters (Bloomsburg HS) as the recipients of the 2025 The Good Neighbor Project scholarship—two students whose actions speak as loudly as their words and which are already making an impact in their community.

Let this be a challenge to all of us: How can we each strive to be a better neighbor?
