The Good Samaritan Mission
The Good Samaritan Mission endeavors to follow, and derives its name from, the teaching of Christ’s parable of the Good Samaritan. Their focus is service to our economically disadvantaged neighbors. They seek to meet their material needs by offering a “cup of cold water” in Christ’s name through the provision of free clothing, appliances, hygiene items, winter boots, socks and underwear, meals, uniforms, and financial assistance in crisis situations. They likewise seek to meet their spiritual needs through prayer, informal counseling, and verbal and written explanations of the Gospel of Christ. There are numerous volunteer opportunities available. Please consider donating some of your time. You can them at 570-594-7793, or email Carin Wharton at director@gsmdanville.org.

Bloomsburg Community Creek Fall Float and Cleanup
Come join the Bloomsburg Community Creek Cleanup on September 21st for a fall float and cleanup!
We’ll be starting at Hoffman Natural Area and floating down towards Rupert Covered Bridge, picking up trash along the way. Bring your own paddleboard, kayak, or canoe, and please dress appropriately for the weather!
Not into floating? No worries! We also need volunteers on land to clean up our popular creekside spots like Hoffman Natural Area, Bloom Beach, Rupert Covered Bridge, and Fernville Park to keep our favorite places clean for the colder months. They are in desperate need of some TLC before the year ends.
This will be our LAST creek cleanup of the season. We will do one more cleanup along Creek Road in October for anyone who can’t make our float!
See youse there!!
